Made for community venues

Booking your hall, made friendly.

BookTheSpace gives community halls, centres, clubs and marae a warm, simple booking page. Your community requests a space online, you confirm payment in a click, and your monthly council report writes itself.

No card readers — bank transfer No accounts for the public Live in an afternoon

Everything your venue needs, nothing it doesn't

Built for the way community organisations really work — run by volunteers, funded by councils, paid by bank transfer.

Online availability & bookings

A live calendar the public can check any time, and a simple form to request a space — with instant conflict checks so you never double-book.

Payments & refundable bonds

Show your bank details and reference on booking; your treasurer confirms payment in a click. Bonds are tracked separately and refunded after the event.

Monthly council reports

Hours by activity category, computed automatically from confirmed bookings — copy the figures straight into your funding return.

Recurring bookings

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly — including “the second Tuesday of the month”. Set a series once and edit or cancel single occurrences later.

Your brand, your domain

A booking site skinned in your colours, logo and fonts. Link it from your existing website, or point your own custom domain at it.

Multiple rooms & desks

Manage several spaces, book more than one at once, and run hot-desk style pools where a number of identical units share a calendar.

Up and running in an afternoon

No card-payment setup, no migration headaches. Bring your existing bookings and go.

Questions, answered

Do our members need an account to book?

No. The public can check availability and request a booking with no account at all. Repeat patrons can use a password-free “magic link” to view and cancel their own bookings.

How do patrons pay?

By bank transfer. BookTheSpace shows your bank details and a booking reference when a request is made, and your treasurer confirms the payment in one click. Refundable bonds are tracked separately from the hire fee and refunded after the event.

Can we use our own website and domain?

Yes. Every venue gets a branded booking site you link to from your existing website (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace — anything). You can also point your own custom domain, like bookings.yourhall.org.nz, straight at it.

Does it handle recurring bookings and council reports?

Yes. Create weekly, fortnightly or monthly series (including “the second Tuesday of each month”), and generate monthly hours-by-category reports ready for your council funding return.

What does it cost?

Straightforward per-venue pricing with no card-payment fees to set up. Request access below and we’ll get you a quote and have you live quickly.
